Trading Places (Series 1) - Episode 10 - Rags to Riches

This episode of Trading Places is all about the money. Sue and Paul Dokuchie describe themselves as impulse shoppers and have been known to jet off on a whim to Disney World for a long weekend. Paul is the GM of a car dealership. Sue is an executive at a not-for profit organization. They love throwing parties, driving fast cars, and their three lap dogs. Even though they love their life, they still wonder how the other half live. Trading Places could be the perfect adventure!

Stephanie Chin is an Economics student at the University of Waterloo. She likes pop music and hip hop dancing. She works at a bubble tea shop to make extra cash for school. Her brother, Jonathan, is a Math and Business student, also at the University of Waterloo. He likes church - lots of church. Stephanie and Jonathan are living the student reality - dorm rooms and tight budgets!

Take these two families, get them to the airport, and don't tell them where they're going until the last minute. And as usual, Trading Places is adding a catch. First, get a student to run a car dealership and executives to go back to school. Give them the kind of deadlines and pressure inherent to these pursuits - essay deadlines, difficult customers and total wardrobe changes. Now, the twist - give the Dokuchie's a student's budget and let the Chin's live the life of the rich and famous. Will Paul and Sue be able to handle a mac 'n cheese reality? Can Jonathan and Stephanie cope with the responsibilities of the affluent? Everyone has to get the job done, all with someone else's binders, briefcase and budget!
