Raoul Léger, the Elusive Truth

Summer 2001, Andréa and Cléola Léger travel to Guatemala seeking traces of their brother Raoul, a Canadian lay missionary murdered in 1981 by the Guatemalan army. There they discover the warmth and the misery of a people still haunted by the horrors of a 35-year-long civil war. Overcome by the moving testimony of those close to Raoul, his sisters seek to learn the exact circumstances of his assassination--and they begin to appreciate the depth of his commitment to revolution. The truth remains complex and elusive, however, as they encounter contradictory stories, political imbroglios and military plots.
