Produced by the National Film Board of Canada with the cooperation of the Army Survey Establishment, Royal Canadian Engineers, for the Canadian Department of National Defence.

A detailed illustration of modern methods of map making. Army engineers are first seen surveying an area in the Yukon, while diagrams explain the mathematical principles used to establish fixed geographical positions. At headquarters we see the complex operations and technical developments employed in translating field records and aerial photographs into accurate military maps.
