Lobsters Are a Community Affair

The film shows how fisheries scientists are working with the lobster fishermen of the Maritime provinces to establish conservation practices which will ensure a continuing supply of lobsters from year to year. We see tests used to prove that lobsters do not migrate from one area to another as do fish. The importance, therefore, of allowing them to grow to maturity becomes of vital concern to the people of coastal hamlets whose livelihood depends on the crop they harvest from the sea.
