Soon after Jason and Julia Young bought an abandoned farm property, Jason began a year-long experiment that would change his life forever - and that would produce this quiet, powerful, and impressive feature documentary debut.

The idea seemed simple. If you're going to eat meat, Jason thought, then you should raise the animals. Get to know them, discover their personalities, treat them with respect - and eventually slaughter them yourself.
