Co-produced by White Pine Pictures and Clearwater Media Inc. with the assistance of the National Film Board of Canada, in association with History Television, the Aboriginal People Television Network, Inuvialuit Communication Society and the Prince of Wales Northern Heritage Centre; produced with the participation of Rogers Cable Network Fund, the Canadian Television Fund and Alberta Film Development Program; and with the assistance of the Ontario Film & Television Tax Credit.

A documentary detailing the profound impact of the collision between aboriginal and industrial cultures at the turn of the last century. It was a devastating period for the Inuit, setting up a pattern of sexual abuse and colonial attitudes, the consequences of which are still felt today.
