From the Middle of Nowhere

An example from Bridgewater, Nova Scotia, of the kind of projects that are encouraged by the federal Department of Regional Economic Expansion. The film describes what the arrival of industry meant to the quiet riverside town when the Michelin Company of France chose it as the base for its North American tire-manufacturing operations. Urban redevelopment plans that had never been considered before were assisted by DREE and by provincial and municipal funding.
